Zero Waste??? EVENT: Saturday October 20

Who knew: Silver Lake community could have zero waste --because City of Los Angeles working on zero tolerance --for garbage --for twenty years. There is a see-about-it Saturday October 20, 2007 --sounds daVine...Well If I'da known: I'da posted sooner.

It's probably too late to RSVP or to have lunch, but you could still get free parking and ear-full, probably. I am very curious about the "environmentally friendly service providers" --If you attend: come back and post a review, tell us the who/what --which City people, Eric Garcetti, etc. attend --if they actually stayed, or just photo-op. [Highlights mine.]

Please join the City of Los Angeles, Department of Public Works, Bureau of Sanitation at the City's first groundbreaking Zero Waste Conference.

As part of its 20-year solid waste planning process, the Bureau has met with stakeholders throughout every corner of Los Angeles to discuss your goals and objectives for becoming a zero waste city. At this conference, the zero waste dialogue will continue with the community, along with City Elected Officials, representatives from the State of California, City Departments and multinational corporations to show everyone together can improve our environment.

Please mark your calendars and spread the word to your friends, colleagues, neighbors and family.

Meals, refreshments and free parking will be provided.
There will also be informational booths from various City of LA Departments and recycled products/environmentally friendly service providers.
